Cost: $19 million

Stalco served as general contractor for the new Elmhurst Community Library, the second busiest branch of the Queens Public Library, the largest library system in the nation. The new structure served as a High Performance Pilot Project and received a LEED Silver certification. It features state-of-the-art learning and information technology.

LaGuardia Community College Library

Size: 3,500 s/f 

Cost: $15 million

Stalco expanded the formerly one-story-plus-mezzanine library, making it nearly 60 percent larger. The students now have additional 312 workstations with powered Internet connections as well as new media and study rooms.

Port Washington Public Children’s Library



Client: Port Washington Public Library

Architect: Lee H. Skolnick Architecture

Size: 5,500 s/f 

Cost: $2.8 million

At 5,500 sq. ft., the newly named Jackie and Hal Spielman Children’s Library is fully modernized and slightly larger than the former, outdated children’s section. The Children’s Library serves more than 7,600 children and parents throughout the year.

Size: 23,000 s/f 

Cost: $8.3 million

Stalco completely renovated and expanded a large public library, which serves 15,000 patrons. The facility now features a new, large, glazed entrance atrium, a renovated exterior, and energy efficient mechanical and electrical infrastructure.
