Cost: $1.2 million Stalco served as general contractor for the interior fit-out of the bursar and financial aid offices at the State University of New York Old Westbury College campus. The project encompassed demolition of the pre-existing classroom and bookstore spaces and construction of the new 4,200-square-foot bursar office, waiting lobby, and the 2,600-square-foot financial aid office. The new bursar office includes the 1,750-square-foot waiting lobby, which features a 120-foot-long aluminum frame and glass wall and ceiling, and a re-used and re-finished polished concrete floor. The cashier station features five aluminum frame and glass service windows and an information counter with solid surface countertops, a maple wood veneer, and an automated security gate. The lobby houses two desks with computers for tuition information research. The administrative area of the bursar office features a cubicle system with nine workstations, three private offices, storage area, and a reception desk for students attending private meetings. The finishes include broadloom carpet, painted drywall walls, and exposed ceilings and infrastructure. The financial aid office houses an open office area, a meeting room, five private offices, a storage and mailing room, and a waiting and computer research lobby. Finishes include a 35-foot-long frosted glass divider wall, broadloom carpet flooring, acoustical tile ceilings, drywall walls, and fluorescent lighting fixtures.
